>>32494416But that's just the thing, a remake of GS did come out and did everything better before HGSS. In fact, despite some of HGSS genuinely new things that felt like improvements, it still paled in comparison to Crystal, even if Crystal didn't have all the flashy effects and modern upgrades. HGSS is a good remake of Gold and Silver, but it just isn't up to par to Crystal, unlike ORAS versus Pokemon Emerald, and that's probably the most frustrating thing about the game because it could easily have all those features and it's new additions. I also dislike the visual style of HGSS due to the poor 2D compared the more stylistic 3D, but that's more of a complaint against gen 4 and I can't really fault HGSS for it.
