Upon fusion, HP is fully restored and statuses both volatile and not are cured, however stat modifiers, be they boosts or reductions, are also reset. Fusion is only reverted with your fused self being defeated or by the battle ending. If your fusion is defeated the Pokémon you fused with is fainted, but the battle continues only with you being unable to fuse again unless you have your own HP restored from zero with a revive or the like. Because of this you can only fuse with a single Pokémon, and only once, in PvP as using items from your bag is prohibited in PvP battles.
Life Cross is activated with a necklace the trainer works like one of those essential oil necklaces but instead of one of those dumb oily circle pad thingies you insert the pokeball of the mon you want to fuse with in its shrunken form, button facing out, and push the button.
Mech Cross is activated by inserting the pokeball of the mon you want to fuse with in its bigger form with the button facing out into this 4 armed "cage" that grips the front of your chest and around your back. Slam the button of the ball on your chest to activate the fusion.
In this future setting there's a large scale conflict between what are essentially a bunch of anarchist hippies and tech nerds over which DNArmor is best, causing problems for everyone else caught in the crossfire.
