Even back in the standards of Gen 1 Psyduck sucked as a "Jack of all Trades" because there was nothing to make it exceptional to all the other Water types out that did the same thing, sometimes even better.

Sometimes the burden of unrepentant mediocrity is so much worse than being outright awful. At least others will TRY to make literal garbage work somehow just to see if they can, but no one will ever look twice at the absolute bare minimum of "okay, I guess" like Golduck.
