I guess my big irritation is that they won't even let him get into the big leagues AT ALL. Once you win the league, you go to the Champion League and once you be the "Champion Master" (Cynthia, Diantha, Steven) you STILL aren't Pokemon Master. They won't even let him win the regular League because...........................?
Then there's this romance thing. Yes, it's cute, but what's the fucking point? The writers aren't going to step out of their stale comfort zone, and put Ash in an actual relationship because reasons!
