>>47046972It goes a little downhill in Johto, but from rewatching I've come to really appreciate how unique the world is compared to later season. Kanto doesn't feel like some idealic world that later seasons portray their regions as (including Kanto itself in AG/JN), the pacing is great, the music is awesome, the "fillers" felt new and creative, people bitch about Misty and Brock not getting much but they're supporting Ash's journey. Pretty great series, Orange Islands is very underrated too.
