Playing through Heart Gold while waiting for a screwdriver to arrive so I can change the batteries and start Ruby on my dex quest, decided to try out the Cute Charm glitch and make a team of shinies.
Only non-shinies in the party right now are Jigglypuff (being used to attract the shinies) and Raikou, who I encountered immediately after visiting the burned tower and snagged with a single fast ball. I don't think they expected you to be able to do that, because now i've got a level 40 legendary with only 4 badges.
