I've learned some things about star signs. they're kind of a secondary ability that can do things in battle and out, and any pokemon can have any star sign, at least from what I've gathered. the only in-battle effect I've seen is flashy, when using thunder shock, will also lower the speed of the opponent. outside it's a grab bag of things that all cost different mana. grifton can give other pokemon his nature, flashy is sweet scent, valvatorez can either give one of your pokemon any status or cure status, headlights can guarentee the next wild pokemon will be holding and item, and midge can also give another pokemon it's nature. idk how many star signs there are, but it's as weird as I wanted it to be
