Something is edgy when it's attempting to be cool in a pandering way that appeals to 14-year olds by draping itself in "mature" themes - like what Sega did with Shadow the Hedgehog, where he got a gun and started swearing and the whole thing was a laughable clusterfuck.
Now, there are PLENTY of edgy things in the Pokemon fanbase, like pic related. But no official Pokemon (so far) is really edgy.
