You will always want at least one Riolu/Lucario benched unless you are 100% confident there is no way for your opponent to KO you next turn. Expect mulligans, but don't be too upset by them because it increases the chance your opponent will have more basics to start the game than you do. It's not a deck I recommend to beginners because it requires a LOT of pre-planning by knowing what cards are still in your deck and predicting what your opponent has available to him. I've tried running other pokemon in it like Cobalion or Kartana, but they've been more of a hindrance than a help in most cases.
