Game Freak did a really shitty job conveying that Samurott had actual swords in its original sprite and artwork. Its sprite in the game would lead one to believe that "sword" was referring to its horn, and that the things on its front legs were just part of its armor.

The latter seems to be the case.

People also wondered where Samurott's "sword" was until Pokedex 3D, the anime, and merchandise showed that its swords are concealed in the armor on its front legs.

Up until XY, only the anime and spin-off games could show Pokemon's fighting styles and behaviors exactly as they were intended.

Yes, that's how the anime depicts Razor Shell. It pulls its swords out, then they glow and increase in size.

Anthropomorphic can mean either having the form of a human, or having attributes of a human.

Samurott is depicted as carrying swords around in the armor on its front legs, and pulling them out in battle. When it dual-wields, it stands up on its hind legs so it can hold both swords in its hands. That's where the anthropomorphism is.

Its literally an underwater sword fighter for crying out loud. Its combat potential in conjunction with it's blades would thrive in the water for being a quadruped that is adept at using it's hands. On land it is capable of standing and leaping to deliver heavy blows. Not sword fighting like a person on land is a non issue when it has underwater as an option.
>The horn would actually be better defensively because it's attached to the helmet. It's like a spiked buckler which is the tightest shit ever.
