>>39387594>Game Freak culling Pokemon and then lying out the ass with excuses such as "balance" and "better animation" says a lot about their companyI think that's what kills me the most....like...it's been nothing and nothing but "prease underdstanderu" level excuses for the past few games and I generally shut up because they added more than they took away and at the end of the day the core features of the games (online battles and trading) were never really fucked with.
Now though it's just silly the amount of things they're doing and just expecting us to "prease underdstanderu" over. There's no reasoning behind it, it's all "this was too hard, we couldn't do it, we had to put effort elsewhere" but where exactly is elsewhere? Where the fuck was the effort put? The stupid mobile games? and then we have Joe "I suck Gamefreak's dick for my livelihood" Merrick going full damage control with them after he got "invaitod" or whatever and they wrote him a check to make such an ass of himself online that even his girlfriend lost her mind (and now several other semi-known people are flipping sides too....either because they want some of the shill bucks or because they're just trying to cope...idk).
Like I'm over it....I saw this coming a mile away when GO and LGPE came out. My biggest fear had always been that those two influenced mainline games going forward...I shouted this from the rooftops to people when they asked me why I hated those games so much. I just kept saying "As long as their mechanics don't bleed into mainline games and turn the series I love into something else then whatever...people can enjoy them".
Well it's 2019 now...and exactly that has happened. After 20 fucking years of consistently being able to enjoy the franchise I've loved for most of my life...here we are. I've got nothing left to say, my outrage is spent. People like me who've enjoyed their games for this long aren't the demographic they want anymore..it's time to move on.
