It's lazy, they can't even bend their knees while they walk. The big hairdos and shoulder pad suits you see in 80s fashion mags might not be to taste, but damn if it didn't take effort to pull off.
Twenty years of demoralization has made it hard to remember that people used to do cool, vibrant things just to do them in cool, vibrant ways. A lot of people don't have vibrancy in their life anymore and then we wonder why so many millions are despondent flavor-of-the-month junkies.
