Brutally hard at points however, I've done some test runs and they can be quite unforgiving, picrel is from the only successful run of XD I had and the deathtoll speaks for itself, that's with a ton of grinding too

Deaths do not really carry over, no, other than if you're just counting them for the end statistics
As for the champs I've seen people go either way, some like me only count the ones that made it all the way through alive (sometimes there's only been one or two survivors) as that seems to be most in the spirit of a nuzlocke (in my personal opinion), but some champ whoever they brought with them against the champion, or even into the league as a whole
As for the rules I can't think of many, personally I find the champs rule (on top of standard set mode and item restrictions) offers enough fun as you can use it to strategize and use it to your advantage
