The eternal question is though, is Gamefreak incompetent or lazy? I actually lean more towards incompetent these days because frankly, this game looks like an upscaled Gamecube game and is running at 15fps, look at how with Sun and Moon they fucked up the programming to Yandare Simulator levels or how with Gold and Silver they couldn't fit the game on the cart, so Iwata came in and over a single day reprogrammed the entire game to not only fit on the cart but have enough space to add Kanto.
Really Gamefreak should just outsource Pokemon to Monolithsoft or even Retro Studios at this point.
