and that cycle is never, ever, EVER gonna end. It's the one 90s fad that somehow just refused to die, and it's pretty amazing to think about as a phenomenon, because it's one of those very few pieces of media that has to stay alive forever.
Something I like to do is imagine a franchise and think about what would have happened if it became as big as Pokemon. Try it for yourself! Think about a franchise and imagine what would happen if it was as big as Pokemon. What would change? What would stay the same? Would you like it if it were that way? Would you not like it? It unironically makes me think.
