Imo not an issue, it's just more aesthetically pleasing for the artist. If one wouldn't lambast that then I don't see why they should lambast other alterations of the depiction of a pokemon. Even if you are not a fan, there's no reason to punish those who are.
But with what you are saying, things like this shouldn't logically be permitted on the board either.
