Charizard was pushed in the west, after the anime had already gotten to Charizard in Japan and all, but early Japanese material definitely pushed Bulbasaur as the main choice in everything from Sugimori art to the manga. Hell, even Ash's dream in the first episode showed that Bulbasaur was his first choice if he hadn't overslept.

I doubt it. Blue/Leaf is more iconic, since she is in early art as well as the manga. Kris was just slapped onto Crystal. And at any rate, Kris should be seen as an exception.

You clone and return these, doesn't need to be right away. Although that Litwick will be needed for the second trade.

Then I trade 3 or 2 with Josh (>>17421151) depending on the litwick status.

I have taught it Fire Blast so far and it is holding Charizardite Y. I am not sure what other moves to give it (I am not into the serious side of online play).

I thought Hidden Power might be nice due to it being Dragon Type. Maybe Roost as well? Or Solar Beam?

I have never really done the online battle thing but I still like to make my guys as strong as possible. Whilst I understood IV's I never bothered with them, I just looked for a good nature and EV trained and was happy with it.

Now that getting a full 6 IV's is a lot easier I was looking at making a team including the original starters and breeding them to get best possible IV's.

So what should I go for and what moves should I put on them? It seems like modest or timid natures are good for Charizard and Venusaur and then EV training speed and SpA onto them. But what moves should I use? I used to just put the heaviest hitting moves on my guys like Fire Blast and Solar Beam but it seems that is not always best due to accuracy?

Blastoise seems a little different. It seems he should be trained for HP and SpD? And you should give him Rapid Spin? Or for his Mega form you want a modest with different pulse moves bred onto him?
