UB-01 evolves into UB-02, but it mimics people it sees. Lillie was the first to meet a UB-01 when it came to our world and it took on her shape. In Moon, Aether try and power it up to protect their island from Skull and accidentally create UB-02 Beauty who who goes on a reign of terror that you need to stop. In Sun, Guzma kidnaps UB-01 and Gladion tries to strengthen it by making it fight Type: Null which forces it to become UB-02 Expansion and go on a similar reign of terror. Both Skull and Aether are evil in both versions but who fucked up the most changes in each version, though they team up to stop UB-02. This fails and they evolve into UB-03 (one of two forms) and you have to use Solgaleo/Lunala to fight them and calm them down. In Eclipse both Aether and Skull get a separate UB-01 and mysterious third one will also appear.
