Quite a while ago I was toying with the idea of a meme database to basically figure out which mons are worth investing in. Finally got some spare time so I figured I'd try working on it alongside shuffle, with the hopes of putting it in the OP once it's finally complete in pastebin form. At first I was thinking of giving every mon a rating or something like that but there are so many shitmons, it's likely better to just make some short lists of the ones actually worth talking about. For now, my initial plan is to divide the mons by type and then by three subcategories: the megas, the non-megas, and the memes. Since we toss the M word around here a lot, I should clarify what I mean by meme in this instance. These are niche mons that could pull off some powerful stuff but in most cases there are other mons that require less investment and are more consistently useful.
Since the M2 Max Challenge is coming up, I figured we'd take a look at anti-Psychic mons, starting with Ghosts since they're the most relevant right now. Let me know your thoughts, if any of these shouldn't be mentioned or if there's a ghost I didn't list that you think is worth investing in!
>Megas
>Gengar, Banette
Simple enough. Gengar for 3 mon stages where it's SE, Banette is Fug for Ghost teams.
>Non-Megas
>Trevenant (Shot Out), Mimikyu, Lunala, Dusknoir, Duskull (Block Shot), Mismagius (Rock Shot), Drifblim (Barrier Shot)
Trevenator has its name for a reason. Mimikyu's strong and brings the +50% damage buff, Lunala's arguably better than Silvally if maxed (plus Sil is NVE against one of Ghost's targets), Dusknoir packs a wallop. For stages heavy with a specific disruption (or add them as a 4th/5th), the three other shot varieties have you covered. It should be noted that Mismagius shares the same target types as Mandibuzz, another Rock Shotter that has 5 more power when fully invested. That being said, Mismagius benefits from Spookify+ and Phantom Combo. Continued in next post.
