Especially those of religious significance by the Yoruba. African civilizations just rarely built monuments like European or Arabic cultures did, but then again, neither did the Native Americans north of Mesoamerica nor the nomadic tribes of the Eastern Steppes and Siberia, so its really not that unusual.
