They took the concept and ran with it, and honestly, you two just seemed to take the "OmG THese ARe suFFEring" memes too literally. I can see your point on Dracozolt clearly not fitting, but the other three (yes even Dracovish) wouldn't look too far-fetched as actual Pokemon until you see them actually put together. In a series with things that would certainly have fucked-up looking skeletons like Chimecho, Fenneking, Machamp, etc., I feel like it's justified for in-universe scientists to think that they just had an odd body composition. Also, we know fucking NOTHING about the condition of the fossils themselves or how they were found, which in of itself is a huge clue to how something would have lived. maybe they were found close together? Maybe the fossils fit better as bones through circumstance (this one seems likely as the in-game dialogue makes it clear that they can be mix-and-matched, and it points out that thats odd).
