They got massive balance tweaks in SM/USUM, new lore and pokedex entries, managed to be shoved into the 2nd "faithful" Kanto remake somehow, got put into the PMD remake, Masters, GO, and the anime despite having no relevance in Gen 8, and are getting alluded to yet again in SV's base game.
They even have their own designated category alongside shinies and regional forms in HOME despite no Gen 8 games actually having them even though HOME was made for Gen 8 to begin with.
