Not all Pokemon want or care about getting an education, however I do think there are Pokemon in the world who would want an education and those should be given the option to get an education if they want it! If a random Meowth learned how to speak, read, write, and perform highly complex tasks, then I don't see why other Pokemon with the drive to learn couldn't do the same.
It really is that simple.
