Don't get me wrong, I like that I'm given more viable options and it's very nice that I don't just rely on my starter to bulldoze more than half the game (XP sharer is a godsend) but why is it just GIVING me all this good shit? Pokemon has always been about trying to find and capture all the best monsters to balance your team out accordingly. Just forking over a bunch of incredibly powerful mons during the main story kinda lessens that experience a little bit. I've found myself almost never scrounging in tall grass because I'm almost certain anything in there is gonna be a waste of my time, which is a damn shame considering how huge the regional dex in this game is.
It's still the most fun I've had with Pokemon in nearly a decade though.
