Sure, Nintendo throws us a bone and gives us a separate "Master's Division" for competitions, but that's it. Nintendo's gotta make money, so they're catering to what kids like. Notice how every Pokemon game and character VP shits on, kids seem to adore. Bitch and moan about Lycanroc Dusk all you want, but kids adored Lycanroc in SM, and Nintendo is capitalizing. Same shit they did with Lucario and Greninja.
There's no civil discussion because nobody WANTS civil discussion. Nobody can just leave it as "I don't like the thing" and move on. People will instead bitch and moan for as loud and as long as possible to ruin the fun for everyone else because they so desperately don't want to feel alone in their pessimism.
And yet, despire the attitude, they always buy the games. Because for all the whining, they still want to try, try again, and feel like a kid playing Red and Blue for the first time, despite knowing deep down that time has long passed.
