Decided to leave it up to pure chance. Went to a dice rolling site and set it up to choose a number 1-9. Got Charmander as a result, and I named him accordingly. Kind of wishing I got mudkip now, though. I wasn't sure about it since I didn't really want to copy my now ancient playthrough.
