As long as you don't suck at the game you can almost always pull something off, if your gimmick is strong enough.
Especially on random battle spot.
Laddering on showdown and VGC is a different story, ofcourse.
Also, it was apparently confirmed that you can alter natures on pokemon you already own.
So if you can combine that with altering IVs, you basically have all you need to get what you want, which is pretty big. Finally you don't necessarely have to own like 4 varieties of the same mon to cover different weaknesses.
