What a dumb offer, pokemon already understand what you say. All the bugs would tell me is things like FEED ME, MUST CONSUME, WE NEED ADDITIONAL WATER RATIONS. No thanks.

For me personally, the redesign hit me like a truck when I was expecting something more tame. I enjoyed that the trainer class in the original because it was a kind of random rare upgrade to an existing class. The original dude looks cocky and excited. Plus, he has the nice bug carriers. The redesign nailed a more freakish energy.
The full teethed smile, shadow from being hunched over, and the hunched over position itself are great additions. Doesn't even look comfortable. He's seemingly passed a threshold within his hobby and has become a "freak" when compared to the old design. Also, the glared out glasses and strained net grip are a nice touch in both designs, but they really add to how manic the new design looks combined with the other traits.
