Funny story about black and white, I had previously imported Heartgold from Japan on release, because I had played through GSC so many times that I was confident enough that I could play it without even needing to be able to read the dialogue anyway. That went so well that I figured I would import Black as well. My friend also "imported" black too, and by the time my legit copy came in, he had already beaten the game and had been using my JP Heartgold to transfer over Pokemon. I had never played a Pokemon game without an Alakazam at that point, so I bred an Abra from my HG Alakazam and transferred it over to use in my Black playthrough. I don't normally nickname my Pokemon, but naming them in English while playing in Japanese makes battle dialogue easier to figure out.
