If you're fighting a team consisting entirely of Fighting, Fire, and Ground type attackers, Steel is suddenly the worst type you can run. Cinderace can switch into a more beneficial type. Close Combat hits normal Cinderace for neutral damage, but after a Zen Headbutt or a Gunk Shot, that damage is halved.
>No where near as bad as alakazam with the three punches, but the meta found a way to make alakazam shitAlakazam has the defenses of wet tissue paper, but Cinderace is actually fairly bulky. Cinderace is actually not that far away from Landorus-T in bulk, and it has Bulk Up.
Also, Alakazam was firing off 75 base power non-STAB moves, while every single one of Cinderace's attacks are 85+ base power, often 100+ base power, coming off of a STAB attack from something with 125 attack.
