Like I said again, I was running out of text, 2000 character limit is a little when trying to analyze a character with examples, etc. I can see what you mean, how it's an inside joke, since it contains information that only people who visit TvTropes would understand, but I meant it as a way to help my argument so that one could simply follow the link and understand what I meant. >>11877316Yes, sometimes I too forget that Pokemon is still a kids game that is aimed at kids. When you nitpick Blue/Silver, it's hard to do so, since it was made a decade ago, so one tends to be more harsh towards the newer gens. I understand that Hugh didn't live up to the expectations of a rival that wants thwart you at every corner, but I also resent simply dismissing him as a bad character. He does look like an intimidating character, and imo, a better character design than Nate, so I thought he would be a total dick in gameplay and was completely surprised by his "doting on his little sister" tendencies.
