How many kids got hard filtered by this guy and dropped Pokemon at the first gym? It never really occurred to me because I always pick Bulbasaur as my starter, but I'm playing Yellow now and it made me realize that Mankey is literally the only Pokemon you can get at this point that's any good against him. Mankey isn't even in an obvious place. I'm sure lots of kids who picked Charmander and didn't think to go down Route 22 just threw their Gameboy at the wall and never played this game again.
