He's blatantly trying to save face and not look like the bad guy.
And then he has the nerve to say "I don't want people taking credit for my code." As if he wouldn't be credited by every hack and fork that used it.
Like being the first to overcome the hurdle that is followers in Gen 2 would be swept under the rug. Like people wouldn't think "Oh hey, this is ShockSlayer's code!"
