After Sapphire and seeing Wally, and never having caught my own, I really wanted to get a Ralts for my Emerald playthrough. So I made sure to catch one early on and he stayed on my team for the entire playthrough. Probably the first time I ever got more attached to a Pokemon that wasn't a starter. He was amazing and carried me through Emerald super well. Since then he's been my permanent ace/bro and I have a "main team", that I tend to do post-game with once transfer is available, and that has changed over the years in lots of ways but that he's always been the ace.
Wouldn't ever give him up.
