I primarily like Sneasel because I like designs that have big claws or hands or forearms relative to the upper arm, I think that looks cool; as well as the fact that I like impish creatures, speedy characters, and it's a complete smug piece of shit. The assymetry of the feather also looks cool, with the contrast between the dark blue and red looking threatening.
I don't think Weavile is a bad design and it's still cool, but it's hands/claws are significantly smaller then sneasel and it having 3 claws looks a lot more conventual then sneasel's bigger two claws; with it's arms also being shorter. Weavile's head is also bigger, something the feather headdress (which undermines a lot of the cool assymetry) doesn't help with, and leads to it almost looking baby-ish relative to Sneasel in a lot of depictions, especially in the 3d games: it's legs/arms are comically short in Gen 6 onwards, and it looks very silly, see pic (the official sugimori art has longer limbs that looks decent, Pokken even better) It's also not quite as smug/doesn't have quite as much a look of being a miscevious shitbag
Sneasler retains a lot more of those aspects I like about sneasel: The assemtry is kept, the claws and hands are kept big, and the limbs don't look as stunted... but it goes too far in the opposite direction and Sneasler looks downright comedically lanky, something the very human, uncomfortably sexual idle posing doesn't help with. Also, while I appreciate the dash of color on the face and lower legs, the fact it's a different purple from on the claws/feather looks bafflingly bad from a visual design perspective and the overall lighter color scheme I don't think works well.
