There's nothing to say that different implementations of the Entralink don't exist in other regions. You could say Sinnoh's equivalent was the GTS building or the underground.
The problem with the actual regional gimmicks like Z-Moves/Dynamax is that they are supposed to tie into the story which also conveniently provides an explanation for why the feature will never return. There's nothing wrong with experimenting with mechanics like the Entralink or PR Videos, the issue comes when they know they're going to drop it from the getgo and still revolve so much of the region's identity around it anyway.
It made Alola and Galar feel so much less special compared to Unova and Kalos which actually made a name for itself with the themes and locales during the story.

It was never going to be as good as ORAS.
As much as people shit on it and Gen 6, it was the last game to not only have the PSS but the National Dex, Triples/Rotation, and some freedom and semblance of player agency as well.
