We can probably work out how many new Pokémon there'll be based on the last two generations.

So both generations introduced ~100 new designs overall, but the forms ate into the number of actual brand new Pokémon. With that in mind, we can safely assume that this will be the general formula going forward; ~100 designs, minus however many new forms are introduced.
SS has equivalents to both Mega Evolutions and Alolan forms, so that probably means one of two things;
>SS will introduce as many new forms overall as XY and SM combined, ~50
>SS will introduce as many new forms as XY and SM averaged, ~25
So, based on the formula, the total is likely to be somewhere in the ballpark of 50-75 brand new Pokémon.
Currently there are 8 Gigantamax forms and just 4 Galarian forms (although it's safe to assume Rapidash will get one as well, so maybe bump that to 5), so the maximum number of brand new Pokémon we can reasonably expect based on what we know right now is ~88.

I've been a casual player of the whole franchise, since I was a child, I'm 27 now and I've bought all the installments of Pokemon outside BW2 and ORAS and this is adding up to be a really easy game sadly.

Here hoping those giant empty lots all through out the maps and demo are for some sort of Gym/Mini-Battle Towers for Post Game, if there even is one. Heard people who got ORAS were left with a fucking "Soon to be built" Battle Tower that never actually happened.

hg/ss couldn't trade with black/white
we wont be able to trade between ours and Sun/ Moon
all use different methods of poke transfer
