Not to mention she sits next to Ash and has a personal encounter with him instead of a group encounter that seems to be the case for the 3 captains.
As for Mallow, she appears to be the most mature out of the captains and her personality would make her befriend Ash faster. Also serve as his tutor and take him to the nurse office, Lana is cute but at their side she's literally my little brother. But anyway, the eye candy is superb this season.
