>>34927991>Oh, and it also streamlines EV training.Yes and no.
If they're going to give us a way to add EVs directly, why give it to us with an arbitrary timer. It's still grind if I have to invest (tedious) time in order to get to get what I want. Why not cut out the middle man and just let us directly move around stats on the fly? It doesn't make any sense. I have to wait a day AND NOT PLAY THE GAME in order to play the game. WTF.
I completely agree with OP. While I appreciate not having to keep track of EVs while grinding wild monsters, this system is just a band-aid (covered in shit) on a broken system. What a backwards company. Example: I want to relearn a move. I have to fly to this specific NPC. I have to give this specific NPC a specific item. Okay. Sure. Maybe this worked back in the day as a way to artificially restrict team building. You had to really think and weigh the costs/risks of changing of move because that one item was so rare.
Now? You can "buy" them. Only you can't really. Not outright. You have to go through this arbitrary roundabout restaurant system where you're forced to watch a cutscene everytime. Why? WHY? Heart Scales aren't even rare anymore because they're tied to money now, a resource that might as well be infinite in a game of constant handouts. Again. Why not cut out the middle man. Make me play an amount to the NPC. or better yet. Just let me edit moves on the fly at any PoKeon center. Because these artificial restrictions are no longer restrictions. The amount of resources I have means I no longer have to weigh the consequences of forgetting a move. So fuck the tedium of flying back and forth and talking to random NPC's watching the same Nanu cutscene. It's so fucking stupid and bizarre. but the game is riddled with thsee backward design choices. So much bloat. In an effort to cater to mobile game players, the ape mobile games. You literally have log in bonuses every day. FUCK. HOW DO PEOPLE NOT SEE THIS.
