The first matchup is between Bad Dragon and Jumpluff. Bad Dragon scores a critical hit with Fly to knock Jumpluff down to low health, but gets paralyzed by Stun Spore. Erika keeps Jumpluff healthy by using Giga Drain and her only two Full Restores, which results in Bad Dragon getting knocked out and leaving Jumpluff at about half its health.
Jumpluff's higher speed lets it sap Charmeleon with Leech Seed, but one Flamethrower is enough to defeat it. Erika sends out Celebi next. Both Pokémon exchange super-effective hits with Earth Power and Fire Blast, but Jumpluff's Leech Seed skews the match in Celebi's favor. Charmeleon faints the following turn, and Brunown is sent in. We open with Double Team, avoiding Celebi's Giga Drain. Brunown's Hidden Power is super-effective, but Celebi's high level and stats let it tank a hit and strike back with Giga Drain. We try raising Brunown's evasion further, but Celebi gets another hit in, bringing it down to very low health. Brunown strikes with Hidden Power, then gets defeated by Celebi.
Celebi is able to restore a lot of its health against Klaus, but X-Scissor is more than enough to take it down to zero HP. With her Mythical Pokémon defeated, Erika sends out Victreebel. Klaus strikes with X-Scissor, and Victreebel begins charging sunlight. The next few turns, Klaus manages to avoid Solarbeam three times in a row by burrowing underground. When Victreebel is eventually defeated, Erika sends in Vileplume, who takes some damage from X-Scissor but defeats Klaus with Petal Dance.
