Hey guys its sprite discussion time! So our cut-ins have a huge fuckton of variety, so I thought it was finally time to sit down and talk about what kind of style/size we want to aim for. The ones we have are split into 4 categories, with some misfits kinda hanging out in the corner.
- Group C was the first set we made. The biggest issue with these I remember was that they were uninteresting. I think they were voted out? Not sure.
- Group B was the next set made. It's larger, sketchier, and a bit more dynamic.
- Group A is like B but with the sketchiness replaced with clean lines and shading. From what I can tell, this style seems to match the GF-style the most.
- Group D is a version of C with more dynamic posing.
So what are the questions? For starters, I'm completely unsure of the size requirements of the cut-ins. I believe the smaller ones fit into the box while the large ones poke out of the top, but I have no idea if the latter is possible currently. The second is what sort of style we should be aiming for. We could build off of any of these four versions or instead attempt to mimic the ones from Gen4, 5.1, or 5.2. Once we kinda figure out an overall style, we can work from there to talk about saturation and other details. Opinions?
