It seems he groans whenever one of my teammates do something annoying, especially Torchic, and rather than be excited at new missions, he gets annoyed at them. This also has been gradual, starting with him being neutral and becoming more and more agitated. Jagold wrote a good character for once, I can completely empathize with how he's feeling.
Anyway, we get our third badge, and we're told there are no missions currently available. (Mmmmchu shouted "HORAY!" at that.) However, the Caterpie that I've had to save twice already asks us to take him to Mineral Field. Mmmmchu really doesn't want to, but Caterpie shows him SPARKLY EYES which convinces him to take him there.
So now I have to go through SinisterWoods for a fifth goddamn time.
