This gonna sound lame but usually when I wanna get into the mood for drawing Rouka I just listen to renditions of the Gen 1 trainer battle theme. I like picturing her sending out Jynx during the intro section and both doing a synchronized hair flip as the song ramps up.

There's a section where they show all the pokemon Gyaru and conclude with Jynx which got me thinking "what if I made a gyaru Jynx?" So "Easy Breezy" always makes me think of them.

All of Rouka's training is a struggle. Rouka wasn't interester in pokemon training or battling until Jynx so she's playing a lotta catchup, mostly reading pokemon training guidebooks, magazines, and often unreliable forums. She's basically early ash Ketchum level early on, barely knowing type advantages.

She would probably butt heads with blue a bit too cuz even mellowed out he has this smug aura. She probably hates Bugsy on principle.
