Lol yeah no, the games are like this because
1. They are kids games and gamefreak sucks at world building
2. The kids are rich little shits that live in safe areas, I bet Pokemon Centers aren't even free I bet mom just wires them the money each time, the game is biased by the perspective of a child. Parts of the games break the childs perspective like rocket hideouts inside of casinos or whatever the japanese equivalent is and the Orre games take place entirely outside that bubble and we see it's a rundown wasteland where almost everyone isn't above committing a crime
