Yeah there is no Magma Armor, but that's far from the biggest problem. Wait until you actually try to breed and you'll see what I mean.
Quick rundown:
>Day Care route isn't straight >At the very end of the only linear path (which is small on the south side, and more on the north side later) there is a small patch of grass, entering you into wild battles if you let your character bike to the end>This same path doesn't give you sight of the map square the day care man appears to signal an egg is ready, and there is a police NPC literally on the exact square he needs to be to block a path that would otherwise give you sight of the day care man. You basically have to take a detour off your clean path every time to see if the egg is ready, because of that one fucking NPC blocking you. Like everything else, this feels intentional.>North side is Goldenrod City with a very long path that is in theory straight and without obstacles, except they placed 3 NPCs that WALK AROUND RANDOMLY HORIZONTALLY, meaning they'll constantly bump into you and block your passage at random. I can't express the rage this inspires.>And if you finally got past all of this and took the detour to find the egg is ready, you'll need to enter the day care house, exit the day care house, talk to the old man, and go through the previous two screens againYou have to try it to truly understand the hell that gen 2 breeding is.
