Wallace got his champion team from Emerald too. Also Deoxys encounter was very much inspired by the Birth Island event from Emerald and FRLG. I don't remember that much but Delta Episodes does have some Emerald elements, It's bare bones but saying that it doesn't is not true. I guess ageing does affect the memory after all.
