Another point of criticism is the lack of real content in both Johto and Kanto, which to be sure has improved a lot since GSC, but you still have pic related as a blot on the record and an indication of the sacrifices needed to include Kanto in spirit.

HG/SS had a crater that kinda resembles a volcano, also in LGPE over to the left of the island there's lots of foliage that goes offscreen, I would imagine that the volcano was over in that direction. In FR/LG you could argue that the volcano was Mt. Ember (iirc the sevii Islands were South of Cinnabar)
