Never mind the fact that hamsters are drowning by the dozen just to sustain their creator, oh no, there are bigger matters at hand. Then again, they /are/ clones.
Nevertheless, Double Team 101: when an afterimage can't take it anymore and drowns, it pops like a bubble, forcing the real Dedenne to hop onto the next nearby clone to continue the genocide cycle.
With just enough time left before Dedenne has to hop again, you order off an attack, "Dedenne, fire off a Thunderbolt! Even if it doesn't hit Starmie, it'll still hit the water and electrocute it, it has nowhere to run!"
"Den den, DEN!"
With a loud squeak, Dedenne unleashes a surging Thunderbolt at Starmie, who reels back in fright. As a speedy starfish, it's the furthest thing from a tank, a single STAB attack like that will quickly take it out. Siebold knows this, and calls off a quick attack to cancel it.
"Starmie, Ice Beam, hurry!"
"HEYA!"
Banking on a boltbeam tug-o-war, Starmie shoots out a frosty blast from its top tip, and just in time too. The attack conflicts with Thunderbolt at the center of the arena, resulting in a power struggle between the two attacks. As for the two Pokemon, they're both locked in position, neither one able to overpower the other.
A) Up the ante, use Thunder!
B) Let Ice Beam hit!
