I wouldn't trust him anyhwere near a fire or electric type.
And i sure as hell don't try to get him everytime. I think he's kind of ugly.
But christ almighty did he save my ass in ORAS when Steve's Mega-Metagross whiped my whole team without a single scratch, after i did the same to the rest of the elite four.
