Your IP address gives APPROXIMATE location data to Niantic's servers and the further you spoof the more likely it is that will identify you!
Normally every wifi spot has a different location, a different IP address and perhaps even a different IP provider block!
Example:
Spoofer: I close the app, spoof to the airport and open the app. All this time I'm on the same wifi network
Normal player: I close the app, travel to the airport and open the app. I have accessed two different wifi networks, one at home and one at the airport.
Do not do this.
